Social Selling in Our New Normal

As we approach nearly 12 months in this socially distanced world, filled with video conferencing and remote work environments, I find myself continually exploring new avenues to stay engaged with colleagues, clients and family. The photo and video powerhouse, Instagram  is not new to us but, I have been exploring the benefits of engaging more with our following. With more than 1 billion active usershalf of which following businesses, I want to further leverage this platform as a way to stay in touch, provide support and share ideas with our network.

Instagram is more than sharing a picture of your dog, views from your current vacation spot, or an awesome meal; though I still love all of that personal content! It is a leading marketing tool for businesses that look to improve their visibility and presence. When it comes to social media, you may be doing your business a disservice by not joining the Instagram world, and promoting your brand on this platform. It takes time to learn and create a strategy for your social presence, personal or professional, but if done correctly, the benefits can come back ten-fold.  As my friend Larry Levine says “Transparency reveals your character. Transparency is all about intentionally sharing your soul to the world by showing your true self to others.” Putting yourself out there so authentically will allow others to understand who you are, and what you are about.  In my case - family, food and fitness are at the forefront of the content I personally share.

From a professional standpoint, connecting with like-minded individuals, companies and organizations in our community is what it’s all about!  It sure beats banging on doors to ask for a meeting, in hopes of better understanding a prospects business and initiatives. I have built some of my longest standing business partnerships, turned friendships, by finding those commonalities that Instagram openly allows us to view and share today.

With the goal of growing our social following and increasing engagement, it will allow us to reach more prospective customers, and also to provide a further touch point to our current clients in a direct but non-intrusive way. Give us a follow @TheAOSGroup.  We look forward to ‘meeting’ you!
