Hello! My name is Blake Willmore, and I am grateful to have this opportunity to share my story and begin my adventure at AOS. My background has a significant small-town reflection, with competitive influences from years of sports participation, continuing to this day. Throughout my life, I’ve always strived for ways to challenge myself, and selling for AOS is the next exciting step. Bringing together my passions for competing and building relationships with new people, I am extremely eager to start learning the industry and building on my skills.
My education, starting in high school has taken a unique path. Unlike the typical process, I was required to write essays and interview for my spot. This Enriched Program led to various opportunities including competing in the Science Olympics at Western University in 2017. This program pushed my academic limits and better prepared me for my post-secondary aspirations.
Following a high school career that consisted of 5 varsity sports, I looked towards Brock University’s highly recognized Sport Management degree. During my time there I focused my learning on sales, marketing, and economics. The mentors and friends I met during my studies have been instrumental in shaping my career path, and I am grateful for their ongoing support and guidance.
My employment history begins in West Elgin, ON. on our family farm, where I learned very early the values of hard work and determination. In my younger years, I mainly coached or officiated different sports throughout the community, and I continue to coach in St. Catharines today. As I began full-time roles, I focused my experience on building sales skills. Over my four-year degree, I collected work experience in cold calling, door-to-door sales, business development, and customer engagement. My greatest success during that period was winning a “rejection handling” competition where I defeated over 50 sales professionals, a skill I hope will benefit AOS greatly moving forward.
As I embark on this new chapter with AOS, I am filled with enthusiasm for the opportunities and challenges ahead. My goal is to leverage my passion for competition and my experience in sales to contribute to our collective success. I am excited to connect with the incredible team here and to build strong relationships with our clients and partners.
